The first International Beaver Symposium took place in Wageningen on 2, 3 and 4 February. Sixty participants from 14 countries came together to share their experiences, knowledge and strategies on the specific challenges posed by the growing beaver population in Europe.
The international participants shared insights, discussed specific challenges and explored innovative approaches to balancing nature conservation, agricultural needs, infrastructure protection and climate change mitigation. Presentations by (inter)national speakers, workshops and various excursions provided a varied programme covering many areas of interest. Scientific knowledge was linked to daily practice, so that all participants went home with more insight.
